MY STORY

I never planned to own a fitness business—I crashed into it.

While I’ve always loved exercise and taught workout classes “on the side,” my full-time career was in advertising. I worked as an art director for 12+ years, creating campaigns for brands like Mercedes-Benz and even had billboards up in Times Square.

Then everything changed.

At 27 weeks pregnant with my son, my water broke—completely out of nowhere. I was rushed to the hospital and spent months on bedrest before delivering him via C-section, two months early.

The process of healing and getting back into shape after that rocked me. It humbled me. And it opened my eyes wide to how little support there is for women in fitness—especially when it comes to pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.

When Beau came home from the NICU, I left advertising for good. I went back to school full time to study fitness and nutrition, and never looked back.

MethodS by Katie Breard is my fourth baby.

FAQs

  • Yes! For a select number of women I offer in person personal training and small group training in Charleston, SC. This sessions are 30 or 45 minute sessions weekly or bi-weekly, and these women are in my true inner circle. If interested please email katie@methodsbykatiebreard.com

  • No. I wish it was! I have however partnered with TrueMed to offer HSA/FSA reimbursement for qualified clients. Learn more here.

  • I’m a true believer that fitness and nutrition go hand in hand for best results, and its hard to have one without the other. That being said the nutrition suggestions can be as big or small as you would like them.. After two months of working together if you still strongly would not nutrition support you have the option to drop down.

  • Yes!

  • I ask that new clients commit to twelve weeks of working together because thts how long it takes to begin establishing good routines, habits, and start to see results.

  • I ask my 1:1 clients for a verbal commitment of 12 weeks, as that what you need to see physical changes and get into a routine. After this time we go right into month to month coaching. Whenever you are ready to end you can let me know and it will be the start of your last 30 days.

A Few Things You Should Probably Know About Me…

  • I get bored out of my mind in workout classes where the instructor repeats the same three sections over and over (especially online). So I made sure my workouts never do that. They jump around, keep you guessing, and stay engaging—but still follow a METHOD (yes, we’re repeating muscle groups, people!).

  • I was a vegetarian for 25 years… until I married a Southern guy who slowly converted me.

  • I started running at age 10—not because I loved it, but because I sucked at soccer and wanted to be good at something.

  • I had never changed a diaper until I had my first daughter, Bailey (talk about a steep learning curve).

Also, fun fact: my great-great-grandfather was a U.S. president. Which absolutely qualifies me to coach women through motherhood, hormonal shifts, and identity crises, right?
