WHY I DO THIS WORK:

Before fitness, I spent over a decade as an art director in advertising—running big campaigns and even landing work in Times Square.

But everything changed when I became a mom. At 27 weeks pregnant, my water broke out of nowhere. After weeks on bedrest, I delivered my son two months early via C-section. Navigating the NICU, healing my body, and adjusting to new motherhood was the hardest thing I’d ever done—and I was shocked at how little support existed for postpartum women.

So I left advertising, went back to school, and built the coaching program I wish I had during that time: one rooted in science, compassion, and real-life mom experience.


My Postpartum Coaching Style

I don’t believe in bounce-backs. I believe in rebuilding—with strategy, support, and zero shame. Some days you feel strong. Some days you’re just trying to shower. I meet you where you are and help you move forward—safely, intentionally, and without judgment.

My approach blends clinical expertise (core rehab, C-section recovery, hormonal shifts) with lived experience as a mom of three.

FAQs

  • As soon as you are cleared by your OB. Earlier if you want help with core activation and nutrition support.

  • Yes! I typically suggest 1:1 coaching for this. I can help with scar mobility, massage, and core engagement while exercising among other things.

  • Yes. My coaching combines fitness and nutrition support. If weight loss is a major goal I suggest 1:1 coaching for customized macro support.

  • I suggest postpartum coaching for the first 8-10 months for most women, and often longer if complications arise. It doesn’t mean we are doing easy yoga and breathing! You will be getting challenging workouts, but the RIGHT type of training for your core and body.

  • Yes! For a select number of women I offer in person personal training and small group training in Charleston, SC. This sessions are 30 or 45 minute sessions weekly or bi-wekkly, and these women are in my true inner circle. If interested please email katie@methodsbykatiebreard.com

  • No. I wish it was! I have however partnered with TrueMed to offer HSA/FSA reimbursement for qualified clients. Learn more here.

  • I’m a true believer that fitness and nutrition go hand in hand for best results, and its hard to have one without the other. That being said the nutrition suggestions can be as big or small as you would like them.. After two months of working together if you still strongly would not nutrition support you have the option to drop down.
