What Are the Best Back-to-School Essentials This Year?

The best back-to-school essentials this year cover more than just the kids' side of things: a backpack and lunch tote that actually hold up, a catchall bag for the small stuff, and a couple of things to help moms get through earlier mornings and busier schedules too.

My kids went back to school this week, which means I spent the last few weeks deep in backpacks, lunch bags, and trying to make mornings less chaotic. Here's what made the cut in our house, plus a couple things keeping me together through the schedule shift.

Same as always: nothing here was sent to me for a shoutout. These are things I bought, kept using, and now can't stop telling people about.

This is the one we landed on this year. The charms make it feel special without me having to do anything, and it's held up well through the first week.

Doing double duty for packed lunches and snack drop offs. Holds more than it looks like and doesn't scream "lunch bag."

This has become the catchall in one of the kids' bags for hair ties, bandaids, and all the small stuff you need on hand now that we're out the door more.

Now that the mornings are earlier and busier, this is what I reach for. Doubles as posture support and a workout bra, which is exactly the kind of two-for-one I need right now.

With earlier alarms back in the mix, I need the nights to actually feel restful. This set is soft without being too warm, which matters when Charleston doesn't quite believe it's fall yet.

If you end up trying something, I'd love to hear how it goes! As always, feel free to reach out with any questions.
